Joan died aged 91 after a short spell in hospital.
Joan was born in Nottingham , the eldest of 4 children and loved poetry and reading. She married Frank in 1954 and they were blessed with 2 daughters, Chrissy and Carolyn.
She joined brownies at the age of 7 and was an member of the association for the rest of her life. Guiding was her passion.
She left school at 14 to become a machinist. She was an extremely talented seamstress and created everything from costumes to wedding dresses.
Joan's faith was a very important part of her life. In her younger days she taught at Sunday school and in later years she worshipped at St James's Church, Porchester.
Joan is now resting in peace.
