In Loving Memory of Thea Wellinghoff

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Thea Wellinghoff, aged 78 on December 29, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Mum was a vibrant and classy lady, full of life and independence. Her love for dancing to rock ‘n’ roll music lit up every room she entered, and her joy was truly contagious. She embraced life with an energy that inspired everyone around her and cherished her family above all else. Her love was the cornerstone of our lives—a steady, unshakable foundation that gave us strong family values, strength, resiliency and warmth.

Her presence was a gift, her laughter a melody, her mannerisms unique, her wonderful ways to transliterate every name or subject in her own way known as Theaisms, and her love a blessing we will carry with us forever. Though her physical journey has ended, her spirit will forever dance in our hearts.

We will miss her every day and honour her memory by celebrating the life she lived so fully and the love she gave so freely.

In her memory, we have set up a donation page to Dementia UK, through JustGiving, to be able to inspire the charity to continue their good work in fighting against this horrible disease.

Mum, Rest peacefully and Dance the Night Away with Dad. You will always be our brightest light.

Willem, Jan-Willem, Wendy, Harmony, Prudence, Xylia and Xalvador Wellinghoff

So much Joy and laughter to look back on Mom. You really made the best of everything. You taught us how to stand up and dust of, get back on track and carry on. You taught us the values of family life, and you taught us how to cherish it. The path of life threw us a curved ball here and there, but that's ok because you taught us the importance of music. Then indeed there were the Theaisms, Willem and I will still have to write a book on those because there was nobody in the world that could express herself like you mom,and when you couldn't you would make it up. One moment you would be mowing the lawn and an hour later you would be out somewhere in a Dior suit looking a million$. What a wonderful beautiful woman you truly are, We miss you and we love you.We are safe in the knowledge that you are reunited with dad. Keep on rocking mom. Your son Jan-Willem.
