It is with great sadness that Zoe announces the passing of her much loved Husband Ericson Atkins. Ericson passed away peacefully on the 17th December 2024, after a 3 year battle with MND and Advanced Prostate Cancer.
He was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Nephew, Uncle, Cousin, Brother-in-law and loyal friend.
A celebration of Ericsons life will be help at the John Fretwell Centre, Sookholme, on Friday 3rd January 2025 at 11am, where everyone who knew him is welcome to join the family to pay their respects and share their stories of this much loved man.
Now free of pain and safe from harm.

I would like to thank everyone who attended Ericsons funeral yesterday. He would have been so pleased to have seen you all. Your kind donations amounted to £700, I donated £200 to the John Fretwell Centre, £250 to Prostate Cancer UK and £250 to MNDA ( Notts branch).

Dear Zoe,
I’m so very sorry to hear the sad news about’Eric’. It was my great good fortune to be at Kingsbury high with ‘Eric’ and to have played rugby with him. I have very many fond memories of him especially his laugh. I’ve attached a team photo which I think was taken in 1974 just in case you haven’t seen it.

When our time comes, we all wish to have had a good life, achieved things and made a positive impact on others.
Ericson, you were the fiercest of warriors on the rugby pitch, the most genuine of gentlemen off it.

Inspiring, positive and an example to us men who knew you. Thank you for your friendship and for the pleasure of serving and playing our beautiful game.

The heaven first XV has just had their leader arrive. RIP
