Funeral Director
As most of you know by now, Mark sadly passed away on 13th November 2024, at the age of 51.
The hope is, that with this available to us, people may feel better for leaving a message, or lighting a candle, in his memory.
Mark suffered greatly over the last 8 years, since his mouth and neck cancer diagnosis, having one huge operation after another, and also radiotherapy, and immunotherapy. Unfortunately, as hard as he fought, and as hard as the amazing doctors, nurses and surgeons worked to help him, it wasn’t successful.
He was admitted to hospital on the 6th of November in a tremendous amount of pain. Something wasn’t right with his stomach, and he knew it was bad. We found out after a few hours of tests that his bowel had perforated, and was leaking into his stomach. The fact that he fought the cancer SO hard and courageously, meant that this was a huge blow. Unfortunately, because of the condition of his health at the time, there was nothing they could do for him, but make him comfortable.
He passed away 7 days later, surrounded by myself and other people who loved him, and always will.
There will never be enough we can say or do to show our gratitude to John Eastwood hospice for the amazing care he received, and for the way they looked after the whole family, and his many friends who visited. So, if you’d like to, in honour of Mark, you can make a donation through the link provided on here, or pass something on to the family to be donated with whatever else is kindly provided from others. There will also be a donation box at the crematorium if that’s a better option for you.
We’d like to thank all of the people who have surrounded us with love and support, since Marks passing. We will forever remember the way it’s helped us to cope.
Kate, and family xxx
