In loving memory of Gill Waite who sadly passed away on 19th November 2024

Gill was born in Nottingham in April 1937 to parents Edith and Charlie Ward. She lived in Hardy Street throughout her childhood along with her elder sister Shirley. In her early years she was a Girl Guide and regularly attended church at All Saints. She trained to be a teacher and went on to teach primary school children.
Gill married Tony in 1959 and had two children Tim and David and they lived happily for many years on Grazingfield, Silverdale. Hard working, kind, loving and caring, she was the glue that bonded the family and always looked out for others. She progressed in her career to Deputy Headmistress at Henry Wipple School, Bestwood and loved every minute of being a teacher, always putting the children first.
When her husband Tony died in 1998 she moved to Larkhill retirement village and spent happy years doting on her grandchildren Laura and Tom. Sadly she suffered many bouts of ill health in her life but her strength and positive mindset got her through most, but finally overtook her on 19th November.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but the memories of her smile, kindness, encouragement and care for everyone she met live on. Love you Mum xx
