In loving memory of John Marriott who sadly passed away on 16th November 2024 age 84 years old. John would have wanted his life to be celebrated not mourned. At a young age John was taken into care along with his siblings, He was placed in foster care with a family in Clipstone in his teens. It was here that he met his wife Marlene and they were married in 1961, They have lived in Clipstone since then. They had two children Marie and Michael, Two grandchildren Chris and Abbi and one great grandchild Josh.
In later years he finally got reacquainted with his sister Violet, and we know this meant a lot to him as they had lost so many years prior.
John loved his garden and his allotments and was well known for his exhibition vegetables, he was even getting ready to show again for this year's September shows. He enjoyed fishing occasionally also. He worked at Clipstone Colliery for 38 years. He will be missed and remembered by many.
