In loving memory of Robert Alfred Charles Burge, fondly known as Bob who sadly passed away on 20th November 2024.

He was born to Bessie and George on 21st August 1942 in Royal Tunbridge Wells, and became a little brother to his sister Ann.

He attended St Peters Primary School in Rochester and then went on to Sir Joseph Williamson's Mathematical School to complete his secondary education.
After secondary school, Bob went onto study further to become a registered osteopath after graduating from the British School of Osteopathy in 1964.

He loved rugby and cricket, having been a keen player of both at school and in adult life. He was actively involved in Medway Scouts, Rochester Rotary Club and volunteered at the local RSPB reserve.
He also loved gardening, in particular, growing his own vegetables, bird watching and travelling.

Bob will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Marian, and their two children, Lisa and Nigel. He will also be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Samuel, Daniel and Katie.

All are welcome to attend the funeral service and the family would be grateful if you could confirm your attendance.

If you are unable to attend, there will be a live stream of the service on the day. Please click on the link below

Both Marian and Bob have been very good friends over the last 20 years. Marian in Inner Wheel and Bob in Rotary where I was his Assistant Secretary for 3 years before acting as Secretary . Bob was a very loyal Rotarian and Rotary Functions often were held in the Maths School cricket club pavilion where Bob was a well known Supporter and Cricketer.
A sad loss to ALL who knew him .

We are very sorry that we are unable to attend today, but Christine has been laid up and although she is on the mend it is better that we remain here. We remember Bob for his sense of humour, the way he fitted Christine in and the advice he gave when she fell as we were leaving to go on holiday, his enthusiasm and hard work for Rotary and Scouting. He is greatly missed.

A good friend and Rotarian, Bob was club president when I was inducted by him on joining Rochester Rotary in 1999. As Scout District Chairman, Bob was an able person and always on hand for good advice and guidance.

Sadly missed by so many.

Rest in peace Uncle Bob. I have fond memories of Sunday lunches. Lots of family around the table, you at the head telling jokes and stories. You’ll be sadly missed.
