In memory of our beloved Jaynie who very sadly passed away on 17th November 2024 after battling cancer in the only way she knew how - with positivity and a smile.
Jaynie's life was centred around family and friends and making the most of the time she spent with them. She enjoyed organising adventures and events for all to enjoy but never wanted to be the star of the show, much preferring to be part of the supporting cast ensuring all ran smoothly.
Polo Farm sports club was an integral part of her life having played hockey there since her teenage years up until last year with the only break in that time being when she moved to Wimbledon to pursue her banking career and enjoy the lifestyle London had to offer. In recent years, Jaynie worked at Polo Farm too, managing the whole site and overseeing various expansion projects including the construction of the impressive Indoor Sports Centre.
Jaynie fought and won her first battle with cancer (diagnosed in 2013) and dealt with the operations and aggressive treatment with determination and stoicism. In 2021 the family received the devastating news the cancer had returned, but this time there was no cure. Treatment would allow Jaynie to live the best life possible during her remaining time and she embraced this, outlasting the original prognosis by more than 18 months. Macmillan Cancer Support were always there to support Jaynie and her family and for this we are all so grateful.
Jaynie had many passions but the most important one was her family. Her two children, Ali and Gabs, were a source of immense pride. Her last ambition, once she knew that cancer was going to win the battle, was to ensure both of them were settled in their university lives which she miraculously achieved. Jaynie and her husband, Nick, brought out the best in each other and shared many happy times walking, playing sport, holidaying and visiting friends.
She was the most beautiful, selfless, incredible, positive and smiley person. Jaynie will be sorely missed by so many.
