Roy was my tutor and lecturer (Social Biology) for 3 years at Avery Hill College of Education in the seventies. He was very passionate about it and brought the subject to life; I enjoyed my time there before becoming a teacher.
He was great fun, a week long field trip we went on was in Theydon Bois, I'm wondering whether it was the lure of his beloved golf club that led us to that area.........?!
