In loving memory of Bryan Edwin Harverson who sadly passed away on 7th November 2024.

It was on Wednesday 10th April that Bryan's world changed forever. After suffering severe stomach pain, he called an ambulance and from then spent the next 7 months in hospital. From starting in East Surrey, to being transferred to Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford , he had several operations, multiple medical procedures and worked his way around the hospitals spending time in many different wards including multiple stays in intensive care.

He was diagnosed with Pancreatitis very early on, but this quickly turned to necrotising pancreatitis. This was something as a family we hadn't really heard of, and it does seem it's a disease where there isn't much awareness. We learnt very quickly that it was going to be a rollercoaster of journey, and we were told that there would be good days and there would be very bad days, and that couldn't have been more accurate!

Bryan had an extremely tough 7 months but he never stopped fighting. He tried and tried until it got to the point where he just had nothing left in him. We know as a family he continued to fight for us, and we will never forget how brave he was right up until the very end.

Bryan's wishes were that he wanted people to donate to charity instead of buying flowers for his funeral. and after not much thought, he decided on GUTS UK which is a charity that concentrates its efforts on the digestive system - the pancreas, liver and gut.

We thank you in advance for your donations and we know Bryan would feel the same.

We hope you can all join us in celebrating his life on Friday 29th November.

We will remember Bryan as a dedicated family man and a good friend.
We only knew Bryan for a few years, but on the many occasions we were with him - parties, holidays, meals out - he was always good company with a great sense of humour, and always a story to tell.
We were thankful of the way in which he took our son, Rhys, into his family, and are grateful for the times we all spent together.
