In loving memory, of Lieutenant Colonel (Dr) Olukayode Adedayo Babarinde.

A loving husband, sacrificial father, amazing son, caring brother and a loyal friend to all.

A gallant soldier who served his country (Nigeria) to the core and a soldier of Christ who served the Lord till his last breath.

You will always be insufficiently loved and remembered for the footprints and impacts of love you left in the hearts of everyone who came across you.

We love you, but God loves you more❤️

Bro Kayode, the news of your call to glory was a shock to me. We still communicated few days before this happened.
Our days together in U.I were memorable even as roommates in Independence Hall.
You had strong passion for the Lord and a very strong hope for a bright future.
The solace is that you walked with the Lord when you were here.
God knows better than we do. We love you but God loves you more.
Till we meet at the feet of our Lord Jesus where there would be no more separation, good night my brother.

My amiable oga, a fine gentleman senior officer and a soldier of Christ. The reality of your passing into greater glory is still a rude shock that I struggle to come to terms with every time I ruminate on how fleeting life is. Jolting back to the reality of your transition to the realm of saints is still perplexing but we submit to God Almighty, our maker who is all-knowing. Words fail me to convey how devastated I was when I heard the news of your passing however I am consoled by the fact that you are with your maker having lived a purposeful, impactful and pious life. Even though we would have loved to have you around for many more years but who are we to question God Almighty? From the first day we met in Nigerian Military School Zaria after my commission and posting in 2008, you were more than a superior, mentor, guide, encourager, role model, elder brother and adviser. Your calm disposition, willingness to guide with brotherly love and sincere admonition endeared me as well as other subordinates to you. You were very intelligent, jovial, easy-going, firm, kind to a fault , honest, purpose-driven, pragmatic, professional, courageous, result-oriented, determined and took the things of God vigorously and passionately.

I still remember vividly the events of our meeting and brief stay at the Headquarters Nigerian Army Education Corps, Yaba, Lagos upon your return to the country after your academic sojourn culminating in the completion of a PhD programme in Chemistry. We were optimistic and confident about the successes that were ahead of the next chapter but it is well. I will never forget your kindness, gifts and the lovely memories shared since from 2008 up until you left for the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) on posting. When I got the news of your appointment as the pioneer Commandant of the newly established NDA Boarding Secondary School, I was pleased and I recall how you made frantic efforts and uncommon commitment to give the School a solid start. These will be forever remembered. I could also recall how with intense passion and genuine commitment we spoke on the efforts needed from all involved to ensure a successful entrance examination for applicants. What else can I say? It is well oga sir.

My Prof sir, I still struggle daily to come to terms with your passing and also finding the right words to express my pain but I find solace in the fact that you are resting in the bosom of your maker. Adieu Lieutenant Colonel OA Babarinde PhD, my amiable, amazing boss with a big heart, big brother and an academic of note. Rest in power till we meet again sir and may God Almighty console Madam, the children as well as the family members you left behind, Amen. Adieu sir

My daddy, my daddy
Where do I even begin? My God-loving father, always praying, singing, rejoicing, thanking God in all things whether good or bad.Whenever you think he is sleeping, chances are he is not but firing in tongues. You always prioritised teaching us and anyone you met in the way of the Lord, yiu were an evangelist.

My dad was smart, sacrificial, self-less, loving, caring, kind, gracious, merciful, calm, honest.

He had an amazing gift of helping people, always trying his best to make people happy.Always putting others before himself and putting everything into God's hands.

You were also a very educated, knowledgeable man who achieved many different degrees and awards and helped us in our academics.

You were also a big family man. As much as you were soldier, you never used any military handling or tactics with us,you were always very soft, loving and calm. I mean if I wasn't your daughter,I never would've guessed you were in the army.

Overall, you were a wonderful person who touched and made an impact on so many lives. You will always be in our hearts forever.

I promise that I and my brothers will do and achieve everything you everything you ever wanted for us and that we will always be there for mummy.

I love you always daddy💞
Your daughter,Moyosooreoluwa Babarinde

Then, I called him Bro. Kayode, whom I meet at Wesley College of Science,Elekuro, Ibadan and again at Baptist Student Fellowship, UI.
His devotion to God was remarkable, with a combination of academic brilliance. He was a perfect gentle man and very respectful.

It's deeply painful to loose such a great resourceful and honorable man now. No doubt that, we shall surely miss him here. However, our consolation is that he genuinely knew Christ, faithfully served Him and has gone to rest eternally with Him.

May God continue to comfort and strengthen His entire family, the body of Christ, The Nigerian Army and all well wishers, in Jesus Christ's name, Amen.

Bye 'Kayode, till we meet again in heaven, by God's grace.
