I would like to thank Helen, John, Stuart, Lesley and all those who contributed to the funeral services and the celebration of Bernard’s life this week. They have enabled me to reclaim the Bernard as he was in his prime - so charismatic, energetic and entertaining - and those are the images I now have of him, in my mind. I felt privileged that he became part of our family and that we shared so many, very special, times with him.

Bernard was our much respected parish priest at St. Thomas More’s in Wollaton in 1987, when we moved to Nottingham, until 1992. We will always remember his wise counsel and very approachable nature. We are so happy that he led such a very full and fulfilling life.

Thank you for the great memories of watching Bristol City and Nottingham Forest battle it out for 90 minutes.
