Another lover of Aunty Herta's icecream and also wonderful trifles. She was always very hospitable and I remember many family gatherings round the large dining table and in her conservatory looking out at her garden.

Herta was always so positive whatever life obstacle appeared in the way and full of interesting stories. Tales of Germany seemed so exotic as did the stollen and lebkuchen at Christmas. She cared greatly about her community and will be much missed.

I too remember Aunty Herta’s lovely home made ice-cream. As she was a nurse she was the person to consult for a remedy. I miss her company when visiting Anne who also misses discussing their ailments together!
