In loving memory of our beloved, kind, funny and caring father, David Henry Banks. Dad sadly passed away on the 10th October 2024, leaving us all eternally heartbroken.

He was our best friend, biggest supporter and the most loving person with the biggest heart. He was an amazing husband, father, grandad and friend to so many. His warm and loving personality will always be remembered and live on in our hearts. We will miss him so much, forever but will celebrate his life and keep his memory and legacy alive. We love you so much dad, we’re going to miss you unimaginably.

On Tuesday 12th November, the Banks family will lay dad to rest. We would be honoured if many of dad’s family and friends could join us for his funeral service as we pay our respects and honour his life.

A funeral service will take place at 13:00 at Eltham Crematorium, followed by a wake at The Oaks, Eltham. Dress code is traditional, but the family welcomes people to wear football scarves or pin badges if they wish, to reflect dad’s passion for the beautiful game.

Flower tributes are welcome but preferably any donation made to our chosen charity, The Maidstone Stroke Association, would be greatly appreciated. Photographs are welcomed but the family have requested that no photographs be taken inside the chapel.

For full details and addresses please see the event information.

For any queries contact David’s son, Simon. (Message for phone number if needed).

Thank you

The Banks Family.

WHERE/WHEN:

Funeral service at 1pm-2pm at Eltham Crematorium, Crown Woods Way, London SE9 2AZ

Followed by the Wake from 2pm-7pm at The Oaks Eltham, Starbuck Cl, London SE9 2TF

For the longest time I haven’t known what to say, there aren’t enough words to describe what David meant to me. I will forever be lost without him, he was my emotional support, my guidance, my big Brother. A part of my soul has left with him. I’ll love you & miss you always. Until we meet again. I love you xxxxx

Uncle David, I miss you dearly! I can’t believe it, it’s too soon to say our goodbyes. I will hold onto all the fun and loving memories we had growing up. Starting with the madness of family gatherings, having all the cousins running around playing video games most of the night. Lots of fun and laughter! You was always so loving and happy to be around. I will always remember these moments like it was yesterday! It won’t feel the same without you! You’ll never be forgotten! Lots of love your niece Elise 🪽🕊️

Oh mate. Sadly I'm caught down here in Cornwall as one of our kids has a hospital appointment when I feel I really should be with everyone celebrating your invaluable life Dave. There are certain characters you meet in life, who leave a lasting impression. You are one. Such a kind, big hearted man and so full of friendship and empathy to others. I loved being around you when we played football together back in the day. Catchphrase of 'Cuppa tea, darling' will live with me forever. Sending my love to you and all your family and friends and I look forward to a kickabout in the skies when we next meet old friend - Belvedere Royals greatest ever striker. x

Dear boss,
We miss you a lot.
I have never seen a man like you who is so kind.
We call you as Mr.Bean with tiny eyes..
I miss the days when me and Shelley have coffee with you on every friday.
It was such a stress relieving coffee days.
All the knowledge I have in this place is from you.
You have trained me to handle last minute request etc.
You never say NO to anyone coming to you.
You took me to the tech meetings and opened a different door in my career.
Your knowledge in Science is immense.
Dave, sometimes i feel like "come back Dave, its tiring here without you"
Yes it is hard now a days without you..
Why did you leave us soon??
I still cant believe that you are not here with us instead you are in long vacation.
It will take some more time for me to accept that you will never come back.
In tears RIP.. WE LOVE YOU DAVE.

My Dear Brother David.
What a good man.
Being just 2 years apart, we literally grew up together, shared friends, kept each other company in childhood and adulthood, he was always fun to be around. He would do anything for you, you didn’t even need to ask, he was so kind.
What a wonderful family man, making new members to the family feel welcome and taking interest in everyone’s lives.
Taken from us too soon, he will be missed more than words can say.
David means beloved, and he is dearly loved.
Rest In Peace David, Love Christine. Xx
