In loving memory of Allan Youdell, a wonderful Husband, Uncle, God Father, Dad, Father-In-Law, Grandad, Brother and friend. He lived a very long and varied life. His passion was his family; he was a family man preferring their company to any other, a special family dinner around a big table was his favourite pastime. Mostly because of the family but also because of the dinner... Allan LOVED his food and especially Georgina's generous puddings and a quality glass of Aussie red!
He also loved to travel and has been to the four corners of the world; taking in much of Europe, the Americas, APAC and over to Oz to see his beloved brothers Derek & Clive on many occasions.
He was an accomplished sportsman playing and loving football and cricket, and latterly bowls and bridge.
He loved to dance when he was younger and the jazz greats were playing in his room to the end.
He was a committed Methodist, taking his place in Church life as a Steward and made his mark on the local Methodist Church in the late 90s / 2000s by renovating WB Methodist Church and bringing it into the modern order it still is today.
His work life was in two halves, a skilled draftsman for the first half and an equally able HR professional in the second half. Ending his career after 30 years with Plessey in the mid 90s.
Allan was a colourful character who loved a good joke and was easily moved to laughter.
He will be forever loved and greatly missed by his wife Georgina and all his family. May he Rest in Peace.

Allan was a big part of my life when I moved to West Bridgford and began to attend Church. He and Georgina were always happy to see me and my children Ben and Jo. He was a big personality - loving and kind - with a wicked sense of humour. He will be missed.

“Helen’s dad”…that was who Allan was to me. Calling round the house on Priory Road for Helen at weekends I recall with fondness our chats and always with that wry smile on his face and an impish glint in his eye!
It was Allan’s time to fly the coup, leaving a big hole in the family that loved him, warts and all. My thoughts are with Georgina, Helen and Carolyn and their respective families 💕

Allan and Georgina were our closest friends. They came to our church in 1981 when our youngest was a few months old. We have spent many a happy holiday in America,Spain and Italy as well as Boxing Days with our families and more recently on our own just the four of us, my husband Graham and I, plus Allan and Georgina.
We have lots of photographs to share both at the girls weddings and trips to the South Coast to Mark and Katie’s wedding as well as a trip to Scotland to Phil and Jenny’s wedding.
Allan used to put the world to right every Thursday afternoon with Graham.
Allan was often said to be grumpy but he was never grumpy with me and I will always remember him as a close friend. Xxxx

Darling Dad… I’ve so many memories of you I’ve no idea where to start with this... I know I was blessed to have you by my side from day one to today.
And by my side you’ve been.
My biggest supporter.
Always there for me in my ups and downs. Fiercely proud and protective. A Dad who loved to laugh and share a joke, enjoy a great meal and quality glass of wine and enjoy an epic hug. My gratitude knows no bounds, you taught me so much and I’ve inherited a lot from you; my grit & determination, ambition and not taking myself too seriously… I also got your nose! (Thanks for that ☺️)
You were a lovely, soft and generous Grandad to Charlie & Izzi when they were little ones, delighting in their giggles and cuddles I’m sad you missed your goal to be there for their 21st’s! But not by much.
I’m grateful that you were My Dad. I love and miss you and will love and miss you forever.
Your ‘lovely girl’ Caz xxxxxxxx

I remember those Sunday dinners! Always full of laughter and the most wonderful Sunday dinner prepared by 'my second mum' in my mid teens. Allan 'my secomd dad' always hot-footed it from the lounge (and the Sunday paper) to join us all around the dinner table of course! Very happy memories and proud to have been invited! Thank you for letting me listen to my records on your record player too!

Fondest memories of you...x
