Nellie’s 21st - only recently did I realise that it wasn’t called Henry’s and was in fact Jasmine Gardens. Many happy times here with the Kharas family xx

In loving memory of the warm, witty, welcoming and wonderful Marie. Lots of fantastic memories - countless lift/pick ups to Lakeside, never looking fazed when we crashed on your lounge floor post big nights out at Tots with Nahla at Granville Closr and letting me join you for posh teas at Liberty’s .
Rest in Peace xx

When I think of Mary (and Chess and Nahla) I am thinking of beloved family. Our families have so much history and our stories are forever entwined, through the streets of London, Newbury and Essex! We shared so many good, no great times. I would always look forward to their visits, which brought a palpable air of excitement and joy to our household. Anytime we were meeting up, I knew that meant great food, great company, lots of stores and lots of laughter. Twinkling eyes, big smiles, G&Ts, Brandies and cigars! There was so much love and care between us and whenever and wherever we were meeting it was always an occasion to look forward to. Their friendship with mum and dad has definitely shaped my view of what true lifelong friendship looks like. I’m forever grateful to have had the Kharas household in my life. I’m so sad I cannot be there to say farewell and give Nhala the biggest of cuddles. I will light a candle and raise a glass, and hold you forever in my heart ❤️

Dearest Marie was a big part of our lives, along with her darling Berzin and of course dearest Nahla, now with her own family. We travelled to many places together, from Barcelona (where she taught the hotel bartender how to make a hot toddy) to New York where she turned down an offer from someone wanting to buy her sparkly purple wheelchair. Over the years, we created many wonderful memories together. Marie was so funny and always kept us entertained. She was kind and generous and showed such strength and courage throughout her illness. We will forever be in admiration of her. She is now reunited with her beloved Berz and we like to think that she is keeping him and our darling Meher/Dad out of trouble! We shall miss her greatly.
With love from Rita, Sanaya, Anahita, Tim, Ezra and Romy xxxxxx

My friend Marie 💕. Intelligent, creative, elegant, loved her family unconditionally, extremely proud of Nahla, loved to laugh and had a great sense of humour with a touch of ‘wickedness’ 😉. Nahla will have many stories to tell Woody and Arlo. I am privileged to have known Marie as a friend and colleague.
