It's a shame that while compiling this touching tribute to my brother, no-one took the trouble to inform his sons, sister and other family members of his death. We found out by chance some months later.

My beloved Simon was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in April 2024. He endured pain and distress bravely, fighting to the last minute but this cruel disease finally took him from this world. His love surrounds his family. We think of him every moment.

I only met you and Heather last year when our boats were moored opposite each other. We all instantly bonded and became good friends. We keep thinking about Simon and how you must be feeling Heather (and Simon's other loved ones). We smile when we think of the times we spent together over the last few years on the Canal de Deux Mers - the apéro, meals, celebration of the King's Coronation, etc. We so enjoyed Simon's dry sense of humour, conversations and sense of fun.
