A amazing grandad to me and my sister Natalie l, I will never forget all the times we watched our wildlife programmes went on the odd walk and talked bout nature in general. A true gentleman and amazing man I am extremely proud to have called you my grandad you will never be forgotten and the memories I have will be with me for the rest of my life. As painful as this it eases the pain a little knowing you are finally at rest with my grandma. Your ever loving grandson AKA the Rastas. Rest in peace ❤️❤️xxxxxx

Your suffering has finally ended and for that I am eternally grateful.
Watching you these last few months has been really painful and upsetting.
As head of our family you always treated other people with respect, dignity and with good manners.
I hope I have inherited these 3
things from you .
I've lost both you and my mam in the last year, it is hard to believe that you are both gone.
Being the eldest son of John and Margaret Summerscales has always filled me with pride.
It's the end of an era , but you will be forever in my heart .

You were a true gentleman and you will be missed by everyone. We had some very happy times together, especially at Christmas and new year,and not forgetting the holidays we had together. It can never be the same, but now you are at peace. RIP John, you will never be forgotten.
