Why did we choose this charity ?
In 2010, after some extensive investigations by our GP a Neuroendocrine Tumour was discovered in Dave's digestive system.
This tumour was subsequently removed and he was Cancer Free for 5 Years. Although he continued to be monitored. Blood tests then showed that there was some metastatic lesions appearing within the liver.
With medication, Dave lived a happy and pain free life until February this year.
Although this year has been horrendous for Dave and our family and friends he had previously lived with this disease for 13 years. His philosophy was 'I can't do anything about it so why should i worry, I've got a life to get on with' and he did.
He never wanted pity and if he was ever asked how he was he would always say 'can't complain, there's plenty of people worse off'
Our hearts are broken and we are lost without him.
Free from pain and at rest.

Dave was a fantastic and supportive person who always put himself out to help others. I first met Dave through Essex Police where he was a well respected and established character known then for helping officers needing support. A great guy who will be missed by so many.

The Chapter member extend their condolences to all of Dave's family & friends, he will always be remembered as "Mr Prittlewell" and the Gentleman that he was. At our latest meeting we shared our memories and raised contributions of £ 350.00 to contribute to his charity of choice, and these have ben sent direct to the Neuroendocrine Cancer UK Charity.
