In loving memory of Doris Walters who passed away peacefully on 11th October 2024. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
Family meant everything to Doris, no matter how far away they might be and at the end she was surrounded by the people that she truly cared for and who brought her immense happiness. She was firstly a sister to 8 siblings, an aunt, a wife to dear Reg for 55 years, then mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and also a friend to so many.
She had a great network of friends some of whom were former colleagues and patients from Tadworth Court Children’s Hospital (The Childrens’ Trust) where she worked as a nursing auxiliary for more than twenty years. In this role she twice accompanied children on therapeutic trips to the USA, was a fundraiser and continued to support The Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Doris loved to be in the garden or her potting shed and would regularly visit her local garden centre. On a warm day she always preferred to sit outside. She rarely asked for assistance with anything even when it became increasingly obvious that she needed more help.
Fiercely independent to the end ❤️.
The family won’t be wearing black but the decision is entirely yours.

My memories of Doris go back such a long way. She and my later mother, Mina, acted in amateur dramatic productions at the Methodist Church in Coulsdon. I have such a lovely photo of when they last met which wasn't very long ago. Doris was always smiling and that is how I will remember her. With much love to all the family, Morag xx
