In a close knit pharmacy community paths cross from time to time and Simon always had time and a kind word for everyone he came in contact with. For Dave Simon was an ideal pHD student needing only to be kept on track to finish the writing up! A life cut short too soon.

On behalf of UK Medicines Information I would like to express our shock and sadness about the untimely loss of Simon. Simon was a key member of UKMi until his retirement from the NHS in 2021. He was generous, thoughtful and always forward-looking and innovative. He led many national developments including our national training programme, setting standards for patient helplines and establishing online frequently asked questions about medicines. All of these remain critical to delivery of Medicines Information today. His interest in writing and publishing was apparent throughout his career, and it is no surprise he continued this in his other numerous areas of interest. He was well-respected across our profession and he was much missed when he decided to move away from pharmacy. We send our condolences to his family.
