In loving memory of Doreen Dillon who sadly passed away on 30th September 2024

Partings and endings only leave us with memories, hopefully 'fine'.
My memories of Doreen in the 90s were truly fine. Commander in Chief, in the hub of the school, she had the measure of everyone, read situations so well and gave that personal touch at the point it was needed. Indeed, she gave her all to her work for Thamesview School and was the most reliable and delightful of colleagues.
We miss you Doreen. You were a gem to work alongside. The world is a sadder place without you
Rest in peace as you journey the highway of Eternity
My love, prayers and condolences to all the
family

Doreen came to Thamesview School office as a welcome breath of lively, amusing and friendly fresh air. She managed to combine a high level of professionalism with a commitment to everything and everybody in the school. She wasn’t just the Head’s Secretary or P.A. she was a tower of strength to everyone there. Doreen personified all that was good about Thamesview.
She and I had a typing race every year to encourage students to achieve keyboard skills. She always won of course and the students were often stunned and inspired by her speed and accuracy. She came carol singing with us, she took part in the town carnival, she was a member of the school choir. What an asset to the school she was. However busy the admin kept her, she was always willing to help anyone in any situation where help was needed. She overcame her reluctance to use the tannoy system,, to master new word-processing and the whims of a string of very different bosses. Doreen wasn’t just respected and liked: she we loved I was lucky to know her as a colleague and a friend. Every blessing Doreen. Your family are your legacy but Thamesview was a beneficiary of your very presence there. Thank you Doreen.

As Thamesview School's senior secretary Doreen Dillon was the consummate professional. She was warm and welcoming, capable and caring with a keen sense of humour. She will greatly be missed by all who knew her. We send the family our sincere condolences.
