COOKE UEL (COOKIE) Died 5th October 2024. Late of 38 Ardgowan Street. Beloved husband of Jacqueline, much loved father of Samantha and Aaron and devoted grandfather of Alesha, Preston and Kaileigh. Funeral service to be held from his home (address above) on Tuesday 15th at 1.15pm and afterwards to Roselawn Cemetery. Will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends. To have you as my husband was cause enough for pride, no-one could be your equal however much they tried. I lost a husband in a million, I loved him to the end, I lost two precious things that day my husband and my best friend.

Our sincerest sympathy goes to Jacqueline, Samantha, Aaron and the rest of the Cooke family circle. We have lost not only our dearest friend but also brother in Christ. Uel you were a huge part of Brian's life for many many years and for the past 5 years you both grew deeper and deeper in your faith with your love for our Lord. You never faltered even through your toughest days at the end. God saw you get weary and gave you rest when you needed it. We will look after Jacqueline for you like we promised. It's not goodbye it's see you when we get there brother.

Luke 20:36
For they cannot die anymore, because they are equal to angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.

Cookie, I've known you since I was 13 and in later years. We all had laughs at the Riga Street corner, you taking me spins on Colin Dunlop's motorbike and not forgetting your two red Doberman dogs Barney and Sandy who you loved.
Always remembered with pride, from your old Riga Street corner boy mates, Glen Kane, Budgie Baxter, John Berryman, the Freel brothers and Albert Irvine. God bless.

Gone from us that smiling face,
The cheerful pleasant ways,
The heart that won so many friends,
In bygone, happy days.

A life made beautiful by kindly deeds,
A helping hand for others’ needs.
To a beautiful life,
Comes a happy end,
He died as he lived,
Everyone’s friend.
