Life at Northern Lights will never be the same again, without Mikey D. We'll miss him and his hour long phone calls so much. 20 years of working together and he was the exact same on the first day I met him as he was the last day I spoke to him, never changed, never stopped putting the world to rights. Rest well Mike, you are and will always be missed. We'll never stop remembering you ❤️

My Dear Dapper Colleague,

Whenever you called it always brought a smile to my face. I knew I would enjoy your dry, no-nonsense, tell it as it is humour and perspective on life. I shall miss hearing you say, “I’ll tell you something else Mads” and never knowing if it would be a juicy piece of gossip, a recipe you had made that I might like as it was almost vegetarian except for the meat, or that you were taking the rest of Friday off to play candy crush and do the shop.

I always think of you when I’m on the Luton train and how I once made you stop to get me emergency train wine. You thought I was crazy as I was cutting it very tight, and you were speeding to just get me on the train, but you laughingly and determinedly helped me on my quest. And we succeeded with 20 seconds to spare!

You were so kind to me while we worked together and a loyal friend. I shall miss you.

I will miss our chats - even though Mike’s glass was not even half empty, but completely evaporated, he was kind and funny and turned the act of exasperation into a fine art.

Mike was a top bloke who I always enjoyed working alongside. He always had time for everyone and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

He will be missed by everyone that knew him, a great guy…..
