Lillian Hazel Mary Chambers 'Lil' (29 Jan 1930 - 11 Sep 2024)

Lovely lady. I always remember her as our’dinnerlady’ at school, where she worked with my mum. Also a happy face and she will be sadly missed.

Lil - what an example you were! So friendly and caring. Refusing help shopping because you wanted the walk! Gardening into your 90s and swopping seeds and plants. RIP and thank you for being you.

Lyril as I called her was such a lovely person. I'll always remember her laugh, she never stopped! Always left a visit to her on a high. One very determined and strong lady. Will miss her a lot. X

I lived with my parents in Broadview Avenue and have know Lil for over 50 years. She was a truly great friend of my Mum,who is no longer with us.

Lillian or Aunty Lyril as I affectionately called her was an amazing lady and one I wished I’d been able to spend more time.
Her humour, generosity, wit and kindness were true qualities and I feel privileged to have known her.

Dear Lil, thank you so much for all the lovely kind things you did for us over the years, we were so lucky to call you our neighbour and friend.
