The Funeral & Wake Of Nena:-

Funeral Date, Time & Venue
Date: Monday 14 October 2024.
Time 12 noon.
Place: Rushcliffe Oaks Crematorium Main Road, Stragglethorpe, Nottingham NG12 2PY
Wake Venue
The wake will be straight after the funeral. All welcome.
Place: The Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club. Stragglethorpe, Nottingham NG12 3HB (opposite the crematorium)

Born in Newcastle Upon Tyne 16 April 1933. The only child to parents Ernest Wallace and May Wallace (nee Bibby).
Nena dedicated her life to caring for others. Whether it was her family, friends, or even strangers, she always extended a helping hand and a warm heart. Her compassion knew no bounds, and her kindness was a beacon of light in our lives.
Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.
Children:- Blaise, Dayn & Lianne
Grandchildren:- Emma, Joanna, Heidi, Dayna, Ki & Taylor
Great Grandchildren:- Isaac, Liam & Eddy
For over 50 years Nena was devoted to her partner Dennis (Usher) who shared her love of the great outdoors. Walking, geology, camping, Dennis gave Nena the escape she needed from her full time job as a mother, grandmother, great grandmother and teacher.
Nena spent most of her teaching career at South Notts College. She loved her job, she loved her teaching colleagues and she loved the students.
She taught us that love is not just a feeling but an action, something we show through our deeds and our dedication to others.
You will be forever in our hearts!

Nena was a very special person and so many people will remember her for her generosity of spirit and kindness. The moving tributes at her farewell were so touching and Nena's compassion and acts of kindness bestowed were again touching and special. It was always a lovely experience meeting Nena and so good to have known her. My heartfelt condolences to the family - as the slideshow said - "unforgettable".

Nena was such an inspirational and positive lady who had a rare quality of making everyone she met feel special and important. She has touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

Nena was a truly remarkable lady who I had the pleasure of meeting only just over a year ago when we were both patients in critical care at QMC in August 2023. After my 10 hours of surgery, Nena was the first person I saw when I woke up. She waved to me and had the broadest smile on her face. From that point onwards, we exchanged waves and smiles as I was unable to talk. We then exchanged mobile numbers and have stayed in contact ever since.
I have to say, that I feel I have known Nena forever. Her positivity, support and outlook on life was such ray of sunshine and she will always be remembered dearly as a wonderful, inspirational lady.
My thoughts are with Nena's friends and family at this time. I send my love.

I have fond memories of family get togethers and how patient and kind you were. Asher loved talking about all the rocks you had collected. My fondest memory is when Aunt May told the kids off because she wanted to see the fox in the garden and to be quiet, she made a noise and scared the fox away, you said to all the kids don't worry I know you were all quiet. I'm sorry I won't be there to say goodbye but I will be thinking of you. Love to all the family. X
