John Barry Gowen (24 Apr 1946 - 22 Sep 2024)

In loving memory of John Barry Gowen who sadly passed away on 22nd September 2024, leaving a heartbroken family.

John was married to Audrey for over 50 years and had one daughter Karen. His grandsons Jack and Connor were his world and gave him so much happiness. He had an incredibly close relationship with his son in law John who had looked up to him since being a teenager when they first met.

John was all about family and spent every spare minute taking care of them. He helped with everything from advice to mending cars!! He could bring you to tears of laughter in seconds yet still had a sensitive caring side and could find a common ground with all ages and took interest in everyone’s story.

He fought bladder cancer for over two years so bravely and never complained. His bravery and sense of humour was second to none and he made the most of every minute he had.

At a later date there will be a music event in Norwich to raise funds for the ward that helped him and gave his family more time with him.

His family would love to see everyone celebrate his life on 17th October 2024 at Earlham Crematorium at 11.30 followed by a Wake at Sprowston Sports and Social Club on Blue Boar Lane NR7.. Flowers are very welcome at the funeral - on this day it’s all about John Gowen x.
