Lee, I shall never forget meeting you when I was a student nurse. I had the absolute joy of supporting you as a patient, and I will forever remember your daily Dad jokes - they’ve kept me going even after we both left the ward. You always kept the positivity, and you are an inspiration to others. You’re back with your beautiful wife who I know you loved and missed so much. Life will be a little less funny without you, but thank you for being such a kind soul.

Well, what can you say about Lee he was a lovable, stubborn, and stoical man. After being diagnosed with Crohns in his twenties, he went on to have many surgeries for this and other conditions that subsequently developed. It would have felled a lesser man. After the loss of his wife and isolation during the pandemic he sought out Mountbatten Hampshire. In his words “they saved him.” He enjoyed time at the day centre undertaking in Build & Banter (building Lego) with others. He also raised a considerable amount for them by hosting quizzes and raffles. When he needed it, they provided respite care for him and cared for him in his final days, thus one of his final requests was for any donations to be made to Mountbatten Hampshire, so they can continue to give their support and care to others.
