Well, what can you say about Lee he was a lovable, stubborn, and stoical man. After being diagnosed with Crohns in his twenties, he went on to have many surgeries for this and other conditions that subsequently developed. It would have felled a lesser man. After the loss of his wife and isolation during the pandemic he sought out Mountbatten Hampshire. In his words “they saved him.” He enjoyed time at the day centre undertaking in Build & Banter (building Lego) with others. He also raised a considerable amount for them by hosting quizzes and raffles. When he needed it, they provided respite care for him and cared for him in his final days, thus one of his final requests was for any donations to be made to Mountbatten Hampshire, so they can continue to give their support and care to others.

I can't thank Lee and Madge enough for looking after Bailey and made him part of your family many years ago. I am sorry and regret not keeping in touch like I should of. I also remember going to many Saints away game with Lee, Barry and Jason. We had many happy times and best of all laughs. Lee was one of a kind. Xx

So sorry to hear about Lee’s passing.
I used to volunteer at Mountbatten and will never forget the first time I met Lee! He was an amazing man, a joke in every sentence usually at my expense! He was also very wise under all of the jokes.
I know he is going to be missed by so many people.
I feel privileged to have known him for such a short time.
Rest in Peace Lee x

Lee
I will never forgot your kindness, you were in hospital with my partner in 2020 and you kept him going while he was in there 7 weeks.
After he passed away you still kept in touch with me despite going through your own battles
I will miss our messages
Thank you for been kind.

Rest In Peace Lee - Many years ago you gave me an opportunity to join a fantastic team, and I hold very fond memories of my time at Netley Royals, memories that I shall cherish for life. You were one of the funniest blokes I ever met, always making not only me laugh, but the other lads and parents too! Sleep tight x
