Sorry to hear the passing of Uncle Gilbert. I recall many happy Boxing Day family gatherings. He had an infectious laugh and always had wise advice to give. We will light a candle in remembrance. RIP Uncle Gilbert, Martin, Hannah, Jack, Ella and Isaac xxx

I first met Gilbert in 1988 in the Police Control Room where we both worked. He was such a character. Always had a story to tell and a glint in his eye as if he was about to say something he shouldn’t. A wonderful person who you could rely on and trust. He had a giggle that would put a smile on everyone’s face. Rest in Peace Gilbert. You were unique and captured everyone’s attention when you in there presence.

Despite the feeling of sadness in the loss of our friend Gilbert, there is also appreciation for the fact that we have shared many happy times with Gilbert and Grace. In particular we recall memories of Gilbert and Grace in the context of Calverton Twinning Association, not only at local functions but also in France, especially during our visits together to Longue-Jumelles. We will miss Gilbert as a man of honour, integrity and principle but most importantly, as a true friend who was always ready to share an amusing tale in his unique way. R.I.P. Gilbert from Mark and Pauline Cleverley.
