In loving memory of Richard Mason who sadly passed away on 20th August 2024 Richard was born in Feltham on the 28th of February 1947 to Margaret Connie and Robert Albert Mason. He was the middle son of three, with an older brother Bob and a younger brother, John.

He went to school in Feltham and made friends with John and Brian Smith as well as Roger and Peter Stubbs, good friends he remained close to until his passing.

Richard trained as a mechanical design engineer and started work as a design draughtsman.

In 1968 Richard married Helen Sykes and they went on to become loving parents to Katharine, Stephen and Rosemary. Richard and Helen parted in 1979.

In 1982, Richard married Jacqui Langham, and he gained two stepchildren, Rebecca and Justin. Richard was a wonderful father to all the children and worked hard to build a future for them.

He worked in many varied fields of work from Mars Confectionery to International Gas Apparatus, finishing his working career in the oil industry designing components for oil rigs. He retired in 2012 and embraced retirement to the full.

After moving to Calne, he took up volunteering for the annual Calne Bike Meet, Wilts and Berks Canal Trust and Atwell-Wilson Motor Museum, to name but a few. Richard kept busy right up until his health failed.
