Darren "Dawzie" Dawe
06 May 1967 – 03 September 2024

Darren Dawe was born in Derby and grew up in Long Eaton before moving to Nottingham. The youngest of seven, he attended Lenton and Dunkirk Primary Schools and later Roland Green Comprehensive. His love for football was lifelong—he played for his school and Lenton Boys Club, and became a devoted Nottingham Forest fan, attending home games at the WFCG and traveling to away matches with his mates.

In the 1980s, Darren became a passionate breakdancer, performing with his crew, The Electric Break Crew (EBC), in competitions and at the Broadmarsh Centre. He was also a backing singer in his friend Shaun Buckley’s band, Inception performing gigs and recording in a studio. Darren loved nights out, holidays, and playing football for The Sherbrooke and The Toll-Bridge pubs. His laugh was unforgettable, and his humor made him a true friend to many.

Over the years, Darren worked various jobs, including Asphaltic Roofing, Frank Keys Builders Merchant, and Pork Farms. His most recent role was at MidFix, where his employer supported him through significant health challenges. Darren’s battle with kidney transplants and prostate cancer showed his resilience.

He was a devoted father to his two sons, Hobi and Reuben, always putting them first, even while on dialysis. Darren loved them dearly, saying they were the best thing he ever did.

Darren will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but we find peace knowing he is resting easy.

Rest in peace, Darren "Dawzie" Dawe.
