In loving memory of Michael Edward Randall who sadly passed away on 8th September 2024.
Mike had a long and happy life, married to June for almost 60 years and will be remembered by many for his involvement with the various operatic societies in Nottingham. His first role with Carlton Operatic was in 1969 in the chorus of the Flower Drum Song and his last as the Wizard in the Wizard of Oz in 2010.
The funeral for Mick (Mike, Michael) Randall will be at 2.00pm on Thursday 26th September at Gedling Crematorium Catfoot Lane Lambley NG4 4QH.
This will be followed by a celebration of his life at 3.00 pm at St Johns Methodist Church, Standhill Road, Carlton NG4 1JT and afterwards at our house (and garden weather permitting) at 22 Morley Road Nottingham NG3 6LL for light refreshments and conversation. We will look forward to hearing your stories and memories of times with Dad

I have such fond memories of performing with Mick over the years. He was always so kind and encouraging to me and took under his wing when I first joined COS at 18. A fabulous performer and a dear friend, he will be missed greatly by so many! Back with the love of his life, June, wishing you lots of laughter, music and love and of course dancing on the next part of your journey. Thanks for all the support and love Mick!xxx

I'm so sorry for your loss. Mick was a very warm person, who I had the pleasure of performing with in Carlton Operatic Society,from when I started in 1996 to when he finished in 2010. He was always very friendly and kind to me when I first joined and I really appreciated that. Unfortunately, I'm unable to attend Mick's funeral, as I will be attending a mass for my late Dad at the same time. However, I wanted to express my sympathies to his family and friends and may Mick rest in peace with his June x

I have very fond memories of performing with Mick. I came to the concert for June and it was lovely to see him again after quite a while. We had a lovely chat about our performances together, particularly Anything Goes which I did twice in different roles (Reno with NOS and Bonnie with COS) and had some fantastic scenes with him both times.
My Mum also loved watching him perform. I'd tell her I'd got a part in a show and she'd say "Is that little funny guy in it? I love him!" It became a standing joke that she was more looking forward to seeing Mick than me! :-)
He said that day I saw him: “We had lots of fun didn’t we?” And we certainly did.
