In loving memory of Malcolm Cushing who sadly passed away on 15th August 2024.
Malcolm was born 29th May 1950 at Fairstead farm in Hempnall. Went to school in Long Stratton.
First job was at kilbourn & Sons garage in Hempnall.
Joined Royal Engineers in September 1970, where he served for 22 years and 1 day. He Served in Great Britain, Germany with tours in Hong Kong, Northern Ireland, Cyprus, Singapore, Canada and the Falklands.
While in York he met and Married Jackie. And had two wonderful daughters Dawn in 1974 and Teresa 1977.
In February 1992 they moved back to Norfolk for his last 6 months in the army. When they moved into their forever home in The old stables in July 1992. In the September Mal and Jackie bought a Burger Van and called it Chuck Wagon, had it in a layby just outside Whymondham. He did a good trade but after a while he was offered a job for Colman’s Britvic. Then they gained 2 grandchildren Charlie July 2000 and Libby in December 2002. Then in 2005 Jackie became ill, so Malcolm took early retirement. When she lost her battle to a Brain Tumour. Malcolm went to work at Whymondham Dell's Bowls Club, as bar manager and then became indoor Bowls President 2011/2012. Busta Malcolm's Lhasa apso came along to help him come to terms with his loss. In June this year Charlie presented a Great Granddaughter Caroline Lilly to a very proud Grandad. Malcolm is going to be so Missed and Loved by his family. And remembered as a loyal and good friend who always put his family first.
