I have many wonderful memories of special times spent with Ken and Carole when visiting them with Cherryl, my sister of beer. Ken was the most generous tour guide, enthusiastically driving us all around Kent, including Margate where he encouraged us to try cockles and we had pints at the Northern Belle. Raising my glass to Ken and sending much love to you, Carole and all the family.

Ken was my father's cousin and they were 'M8s' as Ken fondly referred to him and their friendship. He was also a very good M8 of mine and we kept up an email correspondence for years. I made a point to visit my 'English' Masters family whenever I travelled to London and Carole and Ken were the most amazing hosts. Ken would drive me around Kent to show me where our ancestors used to drink (Chequers Inn), and work the hops farms back in the day. He humoured me by taking me to the local pubs, attending beer festivals, and always sharing the latest pub culture news with me. My favourite times were when he took me to the Smallholders Club where I could taste the latest and greatest in regional cask ales. I will miss our beer times and visits together, your good humour and warm smile. Please raise a glass with your M8 in heaven and say hello to dad and mom, and I'll raise a glass to you always xo. Sending all my love to Carole, Zoe, Craig and the boys xo
