I only met Frank a couple of times mainly to organise a treasure hunt with the walking group. He was a very interesting, knowledgeable, charming, man and very good company.

I didn't know Frank as well as most of his close friends, but I found him to be a gentleman with a gentle soul.

My deepest condolences to Frank’s family. I worked with Frank many, many times whilst I was employed at the Wensleydale Railway and we always had a good laugh and a chat about such a variety of subjects. Working with Frank was, without exception, always a pleasure and whilst reasonably quiet and modest, you’d soon come to realise how knowledgeable & wise a person he was. I often used Frank as an example at the railway of someone whose greatest virtue (in my opinion) was his capacity to listen. At the AGM, what Frank could express with just one sentence (having listened intently) summarised what would taken the best of us, several minutes to match.
Thank you Frank, you will be dearly missed.
