In loving memory of Maureen Vardon who sadly passed away on 26th August 2024. Adored wife of John, mother to Amanda & Jonathan, granny and grandma to Alexander, Jade, Jensen & Farrah , mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great aunt and friend.

Maureen had a vivacity for life and lit up any room with her smile and sense of fun. She loved greatly and she was loved greatly in return. We miss her beyond words but will live life as she would have wanted. We will celebrate her life and that we were blessed by being part of hers.

I remember Maureen as always so bright and chirpy, warmly affectionate and humorous. I had known her since I was a teenager and was so pleased she and John had found each other and I had another aunt! That lively spirit was always with her and she shared it with others right up to the last time I saw her in the week before she died, when she chose a much appreciated g/f book for Charlotte and another biography for me, thinking of others even then. She is already much missed, even though we did not often get a chance to meet.

Maureen you were the world’s best grandma! Thank you for the life lessons in raising Vardon boys..:a steep learning curve ha ha. Your soul was precious, the kindest I ever came across and your vitality and zest for life was contagious!

My favourite picture of us girls in Dorset! Maureen you welcomed me with open arms into your family, treated me like a daughter and a friend and became a second mum! You were the perfect mum in law and world’s most amazing grandmother! I love you

Andrew Lenox-Conyngham donated £40 in memory of Maureen

I remember my very first sighing of Maureen when she and John came to our house in the North of England - they were playing crocket and she was bathed in sunlight - and I thought how wonderfully suitable that was! - I feel that she continued to be 'bathed in sunlight' for most of her life, spreading joy and radiance to all those around her! With my love and prayers, Andrew
