It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Stephen, who passed away peacefully on 27th August with his family around him.

He was a much-loved husband, father, son, brother and friend to many, who will be greatly missed having been taken far too soon.

Stephen will be remembered with affection for his kindness and wonderful sense of humour. His ability to retell anecdotes of his travels and experiences will be cherished and keep his memory alive. His love of travel and motorsport led him to adventures around the world with his family and friends. Happy memories for so many of us.

He was dedicated to his friends and colleagues at Mike Garbutt Transport who will never forget his thoughtfulness and care.

A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday 20th September at 1.30pm at St John’s Church, Devizes and afterwards at The Bear hotel.

Family flowers only and donations, if desired, to Salisbury Stars Appeal.

A wonderful man, a great boss, an honourable businessman and by all accounts a loving a very very proud father. He will be a loss not only to the community and his family, but also the transport industry.

Steve was more than a work colleague, he was a gentleman, he was one of the few old school heroes in this crazy world of road transport and he became a friend. His dedication to his work and his unwavering spirit touched the lives of everyone around him. Despite the immense pressures of the transport industry, Steve's kindness and generosity never wavered. He faced every challenge with courage and a smile, always putting others before himself. His passing is a profound loss to us all, but his legacy of hard work, resilience, and compassion will forever remain in our hearts. Rest in peace, Steve. You will be deeply missed.
