In loving memory of Clare Tillyer who sadly passed away on 18th August 2024
Clare was a woman of incredible warmth and passion, whose presence lit up every room she entered. A dedicated driving instructor, she took great pride in helping others gain confidence behind the wheel. Outside of work, Clare was an avid golfer who spent countless hours on the course, enjoying the sport she loved.
One of her greatest joys was supporting her daughter, Millie, throughout her school years and as she pursued both an amateur and professional golfing career. Her unwavering encouragement and pride in Millie's accomplishments were a testament to her deep love and commitment as a mother.
Clare also had a deep love for travel and cherished the many opportunities she had to explore new places and cultures. Whether near or far, she found joy in every adventure.
Her radiant smile was her most defining feature, one that could brighten even the darkest of days. Clare’s kindness, enthusiasm, and positive spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

I hope this message is not too weird. Back around 1990, I was really struggling with my driving lessons. However once wet and windy night I was waiting for my instructor, when the doorbell rang and there was Clare who had been asked to take over my lessons. She accomplished what no one thought was possible - I passed my test at the 1st attempt. She was such a calm person who just put me right at ease from the getgo.
I still live in the same house near the Tickfield Driving Centre. and I recently saw one of her cars and instantly recognised the name. I may have known Clare for only a short while, but I never forgot the best driving instructor I could have wished for. I am so sorry for your loss and hope everyone is managing at this very difficult time.
