David and I were long-time friends with Terry & Barbara through Dewsbury Arts Group and shared numerous enjoyable performances with them over the years as well as many social events. The most memorable performance of David and Terry together was in "Duck Variations" by David Mamet in 2003. When they performed it in the Manchester Festival the Adjudicator referred to it as "a masterclass in acting", which it truly was. I have managed to keep in touch with Terry since leaving Dewsbury and it was a memorable occasion when Denise kindly brought Terry over to see David and me in Macclesfield, before sadly David died in 2020. Both David and Terry are greatly missed by us all.

Although we met Terry only a few years ago we will miss him in our singing group. He dealt with his illness with humour courage and occasional frustration but he will be remembered for his singing of Danny Boy.. We laughed with him and when he was singing we all sounded better. We would have attended his funeral but are away on that day.

The German Section of DAG is sorry to hear about the death of Terry Ryan.
Margreth Duerr recalls that he asked her for the way to the nearest golfing range when DAG visited Unna in 2003.
The performances of DAG on that visit were outstanding, and so was the general spirit in these days.
Even if Margreth is not quite sure if her directions to a range in Fröndenberg were helpful...
With love and sympathy

I first met Terry as a new member when I was in the cast of Tea and Sympathy around 1972.
His wife, Barbara, played the role of Laura Reynolds - magnificently. I held their talent in the highest esteem.
Terry and Barbara became friends and together, they were the very best lead players anyone could wish for.
I recall Terry's performance as Henry 2nd in the Lion in Winter as a tour de force to rank alongside anyone's portrayal - Peter O'Toole included.
He was part of the founding generation of DAG, one of a group of supremely talented people.
It was a privilege to have known Terry for the last 52 years and he will,
forever, sit affectionately in my memory.
Sadly, I will be out of the country on the day of his funeral.
