Thinking about you all the time Michael. We had so many fantastic times. The funeral service was wonderful. The eulogies very special. The Mckenna family should feel very proud and I'm here if they need me.

Dear Mike, you had my back at Italia 90, you hid me upstairs at The Vic when Stoke came to the ‘Wall in anything but peace, but more than anything you were one of the kindest, gentlest, loveliest, funniest men I’ve had the privilege to learn from and work with in this industry we used to call advertising. Rest in peace Mike. X

I'm so sorry to hear this very sad news, I only heard yesterday and was unable to attend the funeral. I worked for Mike when he was the ECD at an agency and I have such fond memories of him, he had a brilliant sense of humour and sharp wit and had so many hilarious stories. Always remember one particular story when he was shooting a car commercial in the desert with orangutans and there was a thunder storm, the animals went nuts and headed straight for the tallest thing around - Mike! Perhaps more than his humour though I remember how gentle and kind he was and he just had a way of being that meant he was an absolute pleasure to be around so it didn't often feel like work. RIP Mike

He was one of my CDs back in the day when I was an AM on Heinz- always a joy to work with.
Since then we kept in touch via our "Cod Whattsapp group" where he loved sharing a meme - The group feels very quiet without him :(

Met Mike briefly many years ago, then had a good laugh with him 6 weeks before he passed, on a visit to the Vic, mainly to see Pat. Very sad loss, still relatively young, suddenly. A shock for his family & everyone that knew him. RIP Mike.

Thanks Mike for always being generous, friendly and funny. We will miss you loads. Deepest condolences to Pat and all the McKenna family
