In loving memory of Dennis O'Neill who sadly passed away on 3rd December 2015. Dennis was born in Lincoln on 4th February 1934 to William and Caroline O'Neill, the 5th of seven sons, the 7th of their eleven children.
Dennis served in the RAF Regiment from 1952 to 1957. Following his time in the RAF he worked in a number of jobs, the highlight of which was as a locomotive driver, he finished as a crane driver at Claytons in the late 1980's. He then pursued his interest in butchery, whilst also caring for his mother who passed away in 1992.
Dennis thought a lot of his family and loved them dearly. Most of his nephews and nieces, great nephews and great nieces had a nickname he gave them. Many will remember Sunday morning swimming where he taught quite a few to swim, whilst also finding time to chat away to Rose, Clarence and Doug, as well as many friends.
Dennis was a keen bowler playing for the Boultham Park club for a number of years prior to his final illness. He also loved to play snooker and spent many a Saturday evening with his mates. Most friends will remember him wearing his cap, with pens in his blazer pocket.
He was a good man, and we will miss him dearly.
