On 24th August 2024 at 5.40am you took your last breath with me holding your hand. You are now at peace Nan and reunited with grandad after all these years apart. The last few weeks have been tough, witnessing you in pain but you continued to put on a brave face for us all despite your suffering.
I shall miss our trips out for breakfast or coffee and cake. Me, Jamie and Benjamin will miss your home cooked meal parcels beef stew and dumplings, shepherds pie, macaroni cheese or your selection of homemade cakes.
Benjamin is going to miss his Great Gran Gran so much but I am so pleased you got to spend the last 20 months watching him grow into the little boy he is. I know you adored him and he adores you. He keeps asking for his “Gran Gran”. I’ll forever cherish the memories we made together.
Thank you for being the best Nan to me and David, for all the wonderful childhood memories. You were always there for us when we needed you.
I don’t quite know what life is going to be like without you but I hope I can continue to make you proud each day. I’ll take some comfort knowing you’ll be watching over us, until we meet again.
