On 22nd august 2024, at Linson court, Batley, of Mirfield, aged 79 years, Derek, very much loved husband of Elaine, dearly loved dad of Ian and Nigel, dear father in law and friend to Sarah and Christine and beloved grandad of Amelia and Niall.
Funeral service will be held at Parkwood Crematorium on Wednesday 11th September 2024 at 11.15am. Friends and family please gather at the crematorium. Family flowers only, donations in his memory may be made online or placed in the collection box provided at the service for the benefit of The Kirkwood.
Treasured memories of Derek. I have never forgotten the first time we met, we were just children, and over the years when we met up again, it was always good for a laugh. Derek’s parents were my Aunt and Uncle.
I will always remember the holidays I had with you in Wales with Auntie Phylis and Uncle Walter and my mum and dad back in the late 50s and the lovely few days spent here in Nuneaton with you and Elaine we had some good laughs x
Derek, so happy we got to chat back and forth on FB. Even though it was only for a short time. You were taken from us to quickly and before we got to know you better. Rest in peace Derek. Love, Cousin Julie from USA
