Suddenly and peacefully, Archie Main passed away at home on the morning of August 21st, 2024.

Husband and life-long sweetheart of Anne; father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother and uncle. Archie’s true-love was Anne and the family they created together: nourished and nurtured by the love their family gave them in return.

A popular man, Big Archie’s life touched countless people, forging strong friendships, bonds and connections along the way. Archie counted many friends in his lifetime and was known to very many as ‘The Legend.’

His qualities - faith, generosity, goodness, strength, cracking sense of humour - have been an uplifting example to all those around him and although his family and friends are bereft at his loss, they are strengthened by his contribution to their lives.

Simply put, Archie Main made the world a better place.

One of a kind and a heart that burned brighter than all the candles he lit for others his entire life, Archie’s passing means things won’t be the same again. As the saying goes ‘They don’t make men like Archie, anymore.’

But we are all the better that they did.

● Rest in Eternal Peace Archie. Till we meet again. ●

Archie will be laid to rest on 4th September, details below:

12pm - Mass at St Alphonsus RC Church, 217 London Rd, G40 2ST

1.30pm - St Peters (Dalbeth) Cemetery, 1900 London Rd, G32 8XG

Afterwards, Archie's Family warmly welcome everyone back to The Fullerton Suite - 1300 Tollcross Road, G32 8HH
