In loving memory of Constance Ann Dowling, Mum, who sadly passed away on 14th August 2024

If you knew my mum you will know the kindness, love and joy that she brought to everything she did and everyone she met, and like me you will feel the pain of her loss, and that our world is not as full or as bright as it was. But I just need to think of her, her smile and her love and my world fills again, the brightness returns, by holding onto the memories of this incredible woman, my mum, she will always be right next to us all, spreading her kindness, love and joy, always.

My Mum was a beacon of brightness and Joy and to reflect this I will be wearing one of my Dad’s bright ties to her funeral, and my wife will wear a dress Mum made for her. So if you want to wear black please do, but if not please wear what you are comfortable in, the brighter the better- it would have made mum smile.

Mum received wonderful treatment at the chemotherapy unit of Southend Hospital, from staff who showed care and compassion as they administered the treatment. Mum always said they were all lovely. So we have decided any donations made in memory of mum will got to the Southend Hospitals Trust Charity, for the use of the chemotherapy unit to benefit those wonderful staff in their incredible work. There is a just giving page to the hospital charity who will ensure the donations will be used as we wish
