In loving memory of Anthony Peter Caley, Tony, who sadly passed away on 12th August 2024
Tony was born in Ipswich, and although the family moved to Kent when he was very young, he kept a fondness for their football team and was strangely delighted when they were promoted to the premiership at the end of last season. Not that soccer was really his game. His great love was cycling, something that he was passionate about in his youth, and he continued to participate in right through to his thirties. Even this summer his love of the cycling at the Olympics shone through.
The other great passion in his life was his wife Valerie who sadly passed away in 2020. Tony was very proud of reaching, and surpassing, sixty years of marriage. Like many relationships, they had their ups and downs, but there is no doubt that they were very much in love. He never really got over her passing.
He was a great Dad to both Stephen and Sarah, a loving grandad to Louise, Elizabeth, Charlotte and Roxanne, and a great great-grandfather to Harley and River. Sadly he never got to meet Rafferty, his latest great grandchild.
Tony had been ill for a number of years, and had been housebound for the last year or so. He was nonetheless still very sharp and took great delight in regularly beating both Sarah and Stephen at Cribbage.
His passing is sad as he will be so greatly missed, but the manner of his passing was a blessing.
May he rest in peace.
