Dear Cousin Chris, I'm was so sorry to hear this sad news. We didn't know each other well, but on those occasions we met I fondly remember your warmth and humour. I'm glad you knew the tranquillity and beauty of India. Above all Im glad you were loved, and laughed alot. I shall treasure the moments of humour we shared.Bless you.

Chris was our next door neighbour for a very long time and also the designer of beautiful pieces of jewellery for both of us for special occasions. All still often worn and cherished and all with lasting memories of Chris and the shop.

We've known Chris for many years and in that time, he managed to make us laugh, be infuriating, nearly kill us, often all at the same time. A unique, kind and unforgettable man, the world is a much poorer place without him and we will miss him, Steve and Lovey Keefe

Thank you all for rescuing Chris from all sorts of situations. The work you do is so amazing.

My lovely mate of 30 years. I am so, so sad. Your kindness, generosity and creativity shone. You brought love, laughter, light and colour. You were also nuts. I console myself with laughter at unexpected sandbanks and compensatory sunsets. I’m so glad you asked me to dance. May your beautiful soul Travelwell.

I was extremely saddened to hear of Chris’s passing.
I first met him over 28 years ago, when we sat down together to design my Engagement ring, then later on my wedding ring, which had my Mothers wedding ring incorporated into it.
That was not the original plan, as my Mother had died suddenly 10 weeks before my wedding.
Christopher felt my pain, that was the type of Man he was , caring and so kind to his Customers making them feel part of the Vinten Family.
His attention to detail was second to none, and my rings look as good today, as they did then.
There really was no one like him.

My cousin Chris was a funny, kind, one of a kind original.
I remember your first workshop in granny’s garden which I’d visit with the snuffling pugs. Your happy, smiling face always with a funny, story to tell.
Your regular funny messages and silly photos from your Indian adventures that you sent to me.
I’ll miss your humour, your Indian exploits and sailing misadventures and I’ll treasure these memories and the beautiful jewellery you made for me even more.

We will always fondly remember Chris, as a hugely talented jewellery designer and goldsmith - with his irrepressible enthusiasm and mischievous twinkly blue eyes.
A windsurfing buddy, fellow sailor, whose joie de vivre lead him to choose - a somewhat bohemian lifestyle during retirement - but he lived life in his own unique way, which suited him to a tee.
It’s difficult to say farewell to a man whom we have had the privilege of knowing for many years, who was so tragically taken in his prime - at a hugely testing time for his beloved family.
Rest in peace Mr V. You’ll be sorely missed - not just by family and friends , but by the many clients whose lives you touch each time they wear one of the special pieces you created. Forever intrinsically linked and never forgotten.
