So sad to hear of Tony's passing, my brother and I were only talking about him the other week. We new Tony from when he played for Tilbury Cricket Club in the late 50's & 60's with our Dad, Harry Carter, before he went to Hadleigh CC, along with Henry Revell and Roland Revell. Fond memories of travelling to away games with my Dad in Tony's car, a red Hillman, I think it was. I remember him as a great spin bowler and I think a number 5 or 6 batsman and a true gentleman.
My condolences to Margaret & family RIP Tony.

  • Hello Don thank you so much for your kind words which I have passed on to mum. Your name was familiar to me . Mum reminded me of how you were part of the Tilbury Crew that helped at the house when we first move to Leigh. She also remembers Dad saying how your dad used to play cards with him and Grandad at Bermuda Road and my Nan would feed you. Dad had a great life , we are of course struggling to come to terms with it. The mind was still fully alert but sadly it was illness ( he was still even driving until April this year !)
