It was so surprising to hear Don had died. He was a most intelligent and informed man who read the classics. We had many interesting conversations. It is sad to think he passed away suddenly at such a young age.

That's very sad news. Managing Donnie when he was a verger at Rochester Cathedral was always a challenge, but he was a good member of the team and fun to be with. We enjoyed many pints and plenty of lively conversations in Ye Arrow. I loved his questioning character and his wry smile. Much too young to go. Bon voyage,
Donnie. Ralph (Canon Precentor of Rochester Cathedral 2001-2008)
