In loving memory of Gerry Cassidy who sadly passed away on 30th July 2024, aged 82 years.
Gerry was raised in Mile end by his mother Margaret alone after the sad death of his father James until her sad passing when he was 14 at which time he was then raised by his sister Mary. He was like a big brother to her children until he finally moved out when he met and married Kate at age 33. He was a carpet weaver to trade until Templeton carpet factory closed and then did many different jobs while raising 3 children with Kate then worked for many years with his best man Beef Cusack.
Gerry retired and enjoyed his holidays in Benidorm and Blackpool whilst spending as much time as possible watching his beloved football team Celtic.
Gerry was later to be diagnosed with dementia and towards the end of his life was attending the Lisbon Lions lunch club at Celtic park which he seemed to enjoy immensely until his sad passing on 30th July.

He will be sadly missed by his family and all who new him but especially by wife Kate son's Steven, Nicky & Gerald grandkids Natalie, Steven & Bronwyn and Great granddaughter Nyla.

Love you Gerry RIP xxx

Gerald, you were like a brother to us, even though you were our uncle. You were there from the day I was born until you left to marry Kate. I remember having breakfast with you every morning before you went off to work at Templetons. It is still so clear in my mind.

The love that you and my mum had for each other was so incredibly special - she adored you and vice versa.

Kate, sending all my love to you and the boys. Gerald was one very special person. I like to think that he is now with my mum. xxx

Uncle Gerry lived a great life, we had great times on all family holidays making sure our towels ware put on the chairs at silly o’clock in the morning then a walk down to the shop with my dad for the papers obviously had to stop off for a quick pint and rolling their eyes as the rest of us mentioned shopping. He was always clean shaved with the comb in his pocket. He was a great uncle that will sadly be missed R.I.P uncle Gerry HH 🍀🍀
